Gretchen - EOD graduation

So Proud Of My Daughter.

My daughter Gretchen, represented by the “G” in the C2MG name and logo, just graduated from the United States Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) school.

The EOD school is a rigorous blend of hands-on training and academic challenges. It equips future leaders with the skills to handle explosive operations in the most adverse conditions. EOD specialists, like Gretchen, are capable of managing chemical, biological, and radiological threats. They are also the only military EOD force that can parachute from the air or dive under the sea to disarm weapons.

EOD School is a long and challenging pipeline to complete. My family and I are also bursting with pride at this achievement because she is a woman. Less than 2% of graduates are women.

She has been home on “Home Town Recruiting” duty, assisting the Army recruiting command. We are eagerly anticipating her next step, reporting to Ft Hood, Texas, next week.

I’m overwhelmed with pride at Gretchen’s decision not only to serve this great country but also for the reasons that drive her. Please join me in congratulating her.
